On Sunday, May 23, please join the Cancer Wellness Center of Northbrook, IL for their 4th AnnualRun/Walk. The event supports the Center and their Wellness Programs, which focuses on nutrition, exercise, spirituality, mediation and support groups. In 2008, the 10K Run, 5K Run/Walk and the Marcia Slotky Family Walk attracted over 1300 runners and walkers and raised an amazing $155,000.00. This year's event -- to be held at Independence Grove in Libertyville- promises to be bigger and better.
Highlights of the event include a live music deejay for pre-race dancing and stretching, post race trophy presentation n for the top individual and team fundraisers, fastest time categories in the 10K and 5K and the overall age groups.

 Dollars raised by Stepping Up to Wellness benefit, in part, the Cancer Wellness Center's Wellness Programs. The Cancer Wellness Center of Northbrook, Illinois, is a private, non-profit, community-based organization whose mission is: through psychosocial support and education, to empower those affected by cancer to enhance the quality of their lives.

The 10 K course is a certified 6.2 mile and the 5K course is a certified 3.1 mile through beautiful Independence Grove.
If you are participating in the 5K or 10K, feel free to join your family in the 1-Mile Family Walk.

Park at Abbott Laboratories Lot R on the corner of Rts. 137 and 43. Shuttle buses will run every few minutes to take you, your family, and all of your gear (including strollers) to Independence Grove. Please allow an extra 15 minutes to get yourself to the race site. Shuttles will also get you back to your car. There will not be any parking at Independence Grove. Call Megan Dindia at (847) 509-9595 if you have questions.

Individual Registration for the 10K or the 5K Run/Walk: $30.00 per person/team member pre-registration. Chip timed registration closes on 5/21/2010 at 12 noon CST. On-site Fun Run/Walk registration for the 10K or 5K will take place on the morning of the event between the hours of 7:30 am and closing promptly at 8:45 am). Morning of on-site registration will be $35.00 per person/team member.
Individual for the Marcia Slotky 1 Mile Family Walk: $10.00 per person pre-registration, or $15.00 on-site registration on them morning of the walk between the hours of 8:45 am to 9:45am.
NEW THIS YEAR: packet pick-up is REQUIRED for the 10K and 5K events.
Family Walk packet pickup will be on race day ONLY.
All pre-registered 10K and 5K participants MUST pick up their race sack, t-shirt and bib number at packet pickup PRIOR to race day on the scheduled packet pickup days below. Exceptions apply ONLY for those who are unable and this must be arranged by Monday May 17th through the Center by contacting Stacy Herpe at 847.509.9595.

Receive a Stepping Up To Wellness t-shirt and bib for participating. Visit www.cancerwellness.org for exact times as the event near. OR, packets are available for pick-up during check-in between 7:00-8:45 a.m. (10K/ 5K) or 8:45-9:45 a.m. (1-Mile Walk) at the North Bay Pavilion in Independence Grove the day of the race.
