After Chicago’s long winter, it’s all about celebrating spring—and Mexico’s Cinco de Mayo holiday—at Cinco! On the Street in the heart of the Lincoln Park/DePaul neighborhood.
This ALL-NEW fest, held on Lincoln Ave. at Wrightwood (2576 N. Lincoln Ave), will celebrate the holiday with plenty of tacos and tequila. Deejay beats will add fun to the weekend’s party.
In addition, there will be face painting fun for kids, lucha libre (Mexican wrestler) shows and mechanical bull rides ($5 ride cost).
Cinco de Mayo (which has grown to become an annual global celebration) commemorates the Mexican Army’s victory over the French empire at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.
A portion of fest proceeds (adult gate donation is $5) benefit Stefani’s Children’s Foundation.
Adults over 21 are also being offered food and drink package options inside on-site tents. They are the ‘Frida’ package (two tacos, two margaritas and fest entry) for $30 and the ‘Borracho’ package for $45 (two margaritas, two tacos, a tequila tasting and fest entry). Advance purchase a food/drink package here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/cinco-on-the-street-tickets-59647516327
There’s also an on-site tequila tasting option for $20.
